The Bianconeri's appeal to have the 2006 Scudetto stripped from Inter following new evidence was rejected only because of a technicality, as the FIGC ruled it could not make a decision due to the statute of limitations.
“Back in 2006, we had a very quick sporting verdict,” Agnelli told the New York Times.
“I think it is important for every sports agency to remain within the sport jurisdiction.
“But the recent facts from the Federation brought out that other teams had carried out similar practices in those days.
“We have to make sure we have equal treatment for everybody, and if we cannot have equal treatment, we will look outside the sport for equal treatment.”
Juventus had hinted before they would take the matter to court, as they were stripped of the 2004-05 and 2005-06 titles in the original Calciopoli trial.
The 2004-05 edition went unassigned, while the 2005-06 Scudetto was handed to Inter.
Meanwhile, President Agnelli spoke with great pride of the new Juventus stadium that will be inaugurated in September, representing the first arena in Serie A owned by a club.
“It is a point of pride to be the first private owners of a fully modern facility to hold games and be open seven days a week for commercial purposes.
“On the other hand, our competitors are international ones and it is an element to fill an important gap as an important revenue source.”
