Serie A is suggesting a similar change and the Assoagenti (Italian Agents’ Association) released a statement confirming it is in favour.

“The AIACS Assoagenti welcomes with particular interest and pleasure the news of a deadline set by the FA, upon the Premier League’s request, to limit the summer transfer session.

“Such a solution has always been suggested and supported by the Assoagenti, who consider the time dedicated to negotiations pointlessly drawn out, as it often coincides with the opening rounds of the season and European qualifiers.

“The AIACS reaffirms the need in Italy to reduce the period of negotiations, setting a deadline before the official start of the sporting season.

“The AIACS hopes that there can be a unanimity of intents between the various European Federations to ensure there is a single period of negotiations.”
