The Italian goalkeeper has lost his place in the PSG team to Kevin Trapp, and has been linked with a return to Serie A, with Roma and Torino thought to be interested.

“Salvatore doesn’t feel capable of playing for another French club,” Giovanni Branchini explained to Le Parisien.

“In addition, he hasn’t received strong enough offers to overcome the sadness of leaving Paris. And it’ll stay the same, even if he’s taking a risk for the Euros.”

Sirigu is the backup to Gigi Buffon, and has 15 caps for the Azzurri since making his debut against Ivory Coast in 2010.

However, he has played only once in Ligue 1 so far this season, meaning he’ll be short of game time ahead of the European Championships in the summer.
