Goran Pandev wants to stay at Napoli, says his agent, but limited game time under Rafa Benitez may force him to consider the likes of Roma.

The forward endured an indifferent 2013-14 campaign under the Spaniard, scoring seven times from 29 appearances, but with 17 of those coming from the bench.

With speculation linking him with a move away, with Roma apparently heading the list of interested parties, the 30-year-old’s agent has reflected on situation.

“Pandev would like to stay at Napoli, he is happy in the city and with the Neapolitan fans,” Carlo Pallavicino has commented to Radio Mana Sport today.

“The issue relating to his staying with the Azzurri concerns Benitez.

“With the Spanish Coach, Goran totalled a good number of appearances but with little playing time, demonstrating that he is not considered a first team regular.

“For this next season we are hoping to better understand the situation, Pandev wants to play and be a leader.

“Offers from elsewhere? For now it is too early, but I can definitely say that the Macedonian has several admirers both in Italy and abroad, first of those is [Roma sporting director] Walter Sabatini, who has adored him since his days at Lazio.

“With the Biancocelesti relations have been closed for some time because of disagreements with President Claudio Lotito and the subsequent legal matter.

“Roma? For Pandev the capital has always meant Lazio, whilst I repeat that Sabatini knows him perfectly and is looking for players with similar characteristics.

“But at the moment there is nothing with the Giallorossi, we are talking about fantasy football.

“What is certain is that Goran is a professional, I do not deny that it would be a curious situation.”
