The Italian international joined the Rossoneri in January, amidst the crisis at Parma, but was loaned to the Bergamo side this summer.

“It’s still very early to talk about it,” Martin Guastadisegno told Tuttomercatoweb when asked about Paletta’s situation.

“But Paletta is on loan with no right of redemption, so he’ll necessarily return to Milan in June. He doesn’t have to take any revenge on Milan.

“He did well for the Rossoneri, and he’s still a Milan player. He’s among the best defenders in Italy, and although he’s only 29, he has a lot of experience behind him.

“For now he only has one objective in mind: the European Championships in 2016. He wants to win a call-up from [CT] Antonio Conte, to show everyone who the real Gabriel Paletta is.

“He’s convinced that Atalanta is the right team to reopen the doors to the national team. We received several offers from France and Turkey in the summer, but we chose to remain in Italy and commit to the Atalanta project.

“The team has great quality and is growing year-by-year. We’ve very satisfied.”
