The Partenopei are looking to strengthen their midfield during the January window, and the former Sampdoria star has been touted as a potential target.

However, agent Jose Miguel Gonzalez calmed speculation of a January move, with his client having only made the move to England six months ago.

“It’s difficult for him to leave West Ham in January,” Gonzalez told Tuttomercatoweb.

“The club wants to keep him, he’s happy in London and is comfortable with his teammates.

“He’d like to play a bit more but it’s normal, there’s competition and the team is doing really well in the Premier League.

“At the moment I haven’t received any calls from Italy, Pedro left great memories in Serie A and it’s normal for there to be talk about interest from big teams.

“Napoli are really strong, they’re doing well in the league and are looking for reinforcements in midfield.

“Obiang would be perfect for their characteristics. But at the moment I haven’t received any calls from Napoli.”
