Lautaro Martinez’s agent says Manchester City wanted the Racing Club striker, but his move to Inter is “90 per cent” done.

A deal has been agreed for the Argentine to move to the Nerazzurri in the summer, even if he wants to stay for the Copa Libertadores latter stages.

“Lautaro to Inter is practically done, we’re at 90 per cent,” Beto Yaque, one of his agents, told Espacio Acadè.

“Only the medical and some details are missing. Initially there was Manchester City, then a lot of teams like Roma, Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

“There’s no chance of the deal with Inter collapsing though, we’re just looking for the right moment for the lad to have his medical in Milan without losing several days of training.

“There’s no chance that Lautaro will remain at Racing after June, then if Inter want to give him away we’ll see.

“The Nerazzurri project convinced him and if [Mauro] Icardi is sold Lautaro will take the number 9.

“Martinez is a great player and Inter is a great club for his first step in Europe.

“The Nerazzurri directors and [Vice-President Javier] Zanetti talked about their Inter project, with Martinez at the centre.”
