Steven Bergwijn’s agent reveals he has already held talks with Inter, who are ‘certainly’ a good fit for the PSV winger.

Inter are one of the clubs who have been linked with Bergwijn in recent months, and Fulco van Kooperen can see the 21-year-old taking ’the next step’ with the Nerazzurri.

“He comes from a very close-knit family and it shows,” he told FC Inter News.

“He is a sociable boy, very humble. He’s had a great education thanks to his parents. And I can say that without any hesitation: I’ve known Stevie since he was seven years old.

“Steven’s always had huge talent. He needs to go step by step. He’s the same young player with that enormous talent when he was seven years old, but he still loves football like when he was a child.

“He always trains hard and does what the Coach expects from him. He’s a reliable player for any Coach. That’s why he has matured so well.

“I’m not at all surprised by his form. He still has a lot of room to grow. The top clubs have been following him since he was little.

“Right now he’s focused on the results of his team, PSV, and the national team, Netherlands.

“He isn’t thinking about other teams. He wants to become a Eredivisie champion and do well for his country.

“We can’t establish a set fee. We can only say that we need a fair price for such a gifted player in today’s transfer market.

“Inter are a top club, with a rich history, great fans, in the city of a beautiful country.

“Any club who admire Steven and can give him the right basis for his next step are a serious candidate. And the Nerazzurri certainly are. I’ve already talked to Piero Ausilio.

“The next step is always the most important one. The clubs who admire him and give him the right emphasis for his development will be able to help Steven make his decision.

“I don’t have a priority over where he goes, it all depends on Steven.”
