Totti and Figo will each captain their own six-a-side team, with the game split into two halves of 30 minutes.

Proceedings from the match will go towards the construction of a new cancer and transplants ward at the Bambino Gesu children’s hospital in the capital.

“It’ll be an exciting evening,” explained the Roma icon.

“It’s a new and original event that aims to entertain the many people who will attend.

“Together with myself and Luis, one of the best players I have ever faced, there will be other great friends of ours, who we’ll reveal to you in the coming weeks.

“I hope the event sells out because it was born to support the Bambino Gesu Hospital. It’s precisely for this reason that I really wanted it to happen.

“The intention is to repeat the event in the next two years, pitting together two other legends.”

His former Inter rival added: “When Francesco called me, I couldn’t help but accept his proposal because I consider him to be one of the greatest players of all time.

“Playing this match together with other stars for a good cause will make the day truly special.

“The Roman people are always very passionate and it's for this reason that I have no doubt they’ll respond really well.”
