Mario Balotelli’s agent, Enzo Raiola, admits there is a chance to see the Italian striker return to Serie A in January: ‘We’ll see…’

Balotelli, 33, is under contract with Turkish side Adana Demirspor where he has scored three goals in five appearances this season.

His agent Enzo Raiola, cousin of the late Mino, confirmed in his latest interview with Sport Mediaset that the ex-Inter and Milan striker could return to Serie A this month.

“Mario is an Adana player now, and I can’t say anymore, but I won’t hide that something is moving. We are working on it,” said Raiola when asked if his client would return to Italy in the winter transfer window.

“There is nothing imminent, but there is a project we are working on.

“Mario has had a slight injury, so we haven’t heard from him much lately because, unfortunately, he is undergoing rehab, which I think he will finalise in the coming weeks,” Raiola continued.

How likely Balotelli is to join a Serie A club this month?

“Don’t fly high, let’s say 5%, but we’ll see,” Raiola replied.

Balotelli returned to Adana Demirspor this past September after one season at Sion, in the Swiss first division.

The 33-year-old striker has played for Inter, Milan and Brescia in Serie A, scoring 52 goals in 141 appearances in Italy’s top flight.

The Italian forward also netted 21 times in 70 Premier League matches with Manchester City and Liverpool.

He has also scored 14 goals in 36 Italy games but hasn’t played a competitive match with La Nazionale since 2018.
