Carlos Bacca’s agent reveals the striker always had a soft spot for Milan – “he didn’t take much convincing.”

The Colombian international joined the Rossoneri from Europa League winners Sevilla this summer, and has scored six goals in 11 Serie A games so far.

“You know when you’re little you look at a team, and dream about it?” Sergio Barila asked Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“Carlos always admired Milan. In Colombia that Italian League is well-followed, and Carlos had a Rossonero ball.

“After talking about European clubs in general he revealed to me his passion for Milan.

“[CEO Adriano] talked to the lad, yes, but Carlos came in with that desire to play for Milan, he didn’t take much convincing.

“He was happy at Sevilla, his family were fine in Seville, but Milan were one of the few clubs he’d have left for.

“Other offers? They came from other Italian clubs, and of course in Spain various teams were monitoring the situation, but it wasn’t easy to deal with Sevilla – it was pay the release clause or no deal.”

Is Barila surprised by his client’s quick start to life in Italy?

“Absolutely not, I’ve known him for a long time, and I know his qualities. In one of the first conversations with Milan I told them Carlos would immediately provide satisfaction and goals, he’s a guarantee.”
