Reports are growing in both the Italian and British media that Antonio Conte wants a reunion with Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni at Tottenham Hotspur after Ivan Perisic.

It is widely-believed now that Perisic has decided to reject a new contract offer from the Nerazzurri so he can accept a new challenge in the Premier League with Conte.

The Croatia international had expressed frustration with the club leaving it to the last minute to discuss his contract, considering it is due to expire on June 30.

He considered it a lack of respect and was therefore ready to move on.

Now Conte wants to poach another player from Inter, where he won the Scudetto in the 2020-21 season, specifically defender Bastoni.

It will be a trickier deal to achieve, considering Bastoni is seen as one of the future figures for the Nerazzurri, especially for his ability to play long balls and push forward as well as defend.

Bastoni just turned 23 and was signed from Atalanta in 2017 for €31m, but left with La Dea and then Parma on loan to gain more experience.

Manchester City were also linked with Bastoni, who is similar in playing style to Pep Guardiola’s favourite, Leonardo Bonucci.
