Fiorentina President Andrea Della Valle believes the Viola “played on a par” with Juventus on Sunday.

The Viola were beaten 3-1 by the Old Lady in Turin, leaving the champions just two points behind Paulo Sousa’s side.

“With regard to Sunday’s game against Juventus, Fiorentina absolutely did not come out of it with resized ambitions,” Della Valle told the club’s official website.

“We played on a par with them, and with personality. Unfortunately single incidents in the final stages of the game determined the result.”

Della Valle also gave his opinion on the Europa League draw, which saw the Viola paired with Tottenham Hotspur.

“It’s a very difficult draw, against a team we already know well. It’ll definitely be fascinating challenge.”
