Juve Pesident Andrea Agnelli accused UEFA designator Collina of ‘vanity’ and ‘scientifically’ damaging Serie A sides in Europe after the Old Lady’s bad experience against Real Madrid, while calling for VAR to be implemented in the Champions League.

“I’ve fought for VAR and I don’t understand why it hasn’t been transferred to Europe,” De Laurentiis told reporters.

“The words of Agnelli on Collina? I agree with him. Mr. Collina has thrown me out in the past because obviously I’m a free man and I love to talk openly.

“He’s also damaged us in previous years, throwing us out of European competitions. I just don’t understand just how someone with his professional background can fall like he has.

“I imagine certain powers, which exist at every level, therefore in FIFA, UEFA or anywhere else, can postpone this technology.

“VAR should be extended, fine-tuned and improved. Like all new technologies, it needs to be given a fair run.”
