Sampdoria have confirmed that defender Vasco Regini suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in the friendly with FeralpiSalò.
The 27-year-old had to be stretchered off in the second half of yesterday’s match, and he now faces several months on the sidelines.
“Vasco Regini was visited in Temù by Dr. Amedeo Baldari and the orthopedist of Sampdoria, Professor Claudio Mazzola,” a statement on the Blucerchiati’s website announced.

“Then in the evening he arrived in Genoa, where this morning he was subjected to scheduled examinations, carried out at the Albaro Laboratory under the direction of Professor Enzo Silvestri.
“The exams confirmed an injury to the anterior cruciate of the left knee. In the next few days the player will undergo surgery and then start the rehabilitation program.”
