Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is given a two-match ban for insulting the referee, while a full investigation is opened into Fiorentina fans’ racist chants against Napoli players.

Acerbi was shown two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent during Lazio’s 3-0 defeat to Bologna.

The two-match ban means he will miss both the games against Inter and Hellas Verona.

Spezia defender Simone Bastoni has also been given a two-match ban and fined €5,000 for elbowing an opponent, but it is likely the club will appeal, as even a red card had seemed harsh at the time.

A full investigation has been launched into the racist abuse that Napoli players, particularly Kalidou Koulibaly, were subjected to during and after their 2-1 victory at the Stadio Franchi.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina have already been fined €10,000 for ‘territorial discrimination’ insults aimed at Napoli.

These are insults towards the south of Italy, which are treated in the same way as racism.

Atalanta, Fiorentina and Milan were also fined €5,000 for insulting chants, while Napoli were fined €5,000 for delaying both the start of the first and second half of their game against Fiorentina.
