Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo is convinced that Francesco Acerbi is good enough for Milan and Italy.

Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo is convinced that Francesco Acerbi is good enough for Milan and Italy.

The centre-back is being heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri, while the tactician thinks he’ll soon be a member of the Giro Azzurro.

“Acerbi is ready for a great club,” Di Carlo told Sky Sport Italia. “He has great personality, he’s quick and has margins for improvement.

“I’m convinced that he will soon be called up to the Italian international side too.

“He’s a player who we were able to show off this season. That is our club policy here – to have a good campaign and put our best talents in the shop window.”

The 23-year-old, co-owned with Genoa, scored one goal in 17 top-flight games this term once he broke into the team.

Acerbi, who has made no secret of his desire to move to San Siro, has never been called up by his country.
