Rumours that Francesco Acerbi will leave Chievo for Milan are gathering pace after his agent was spotted in Via Turati today.

Andrea Cattoli is understood to have held talks with Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani on Monday at the club’s HQ.

The Italian giants are looking to strengthen their centre-back options given the departure of Alessandro Nesta.

The defender, part-owned with Genoa, is of interest to the Rossoneri after his impressive campaign at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Acerbi was close to leaving Chievo in January, until he finally broke into the first team plans of boss Mimmo Di Carlo.

The 23-year-old scored one goal in 17 top-flight games this season.
