Tammy Abraham was again left frustrated in Roma’s tough 4-3 loss to Sassuolo, receiving more criticism from the Italian press.

The Giallorossi, without coach Jose Mourinho on the touchline, were always on the backfoot in their clash with the Neroverdi on Sunday evening, going two goals down after just 20 minutes following an incredible start from Armand Lauriente.

Whilst Roma did claw three back in the seven-goal thriller, it was not enough to see them take home a point, leaving them furious after the full time whistle.

One of the more disappointing players for the Giallorossi was Abraham, who looked off the mark in the match and failed to contribute to a goal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted how the English striker “struggles so much without build-up”, showing his limited contribution to the match.

Corriere dello Sport were a little more critical, underlining how his poor form has plagued him for the whole season, saying: “A lot of passion, little football. It’s not the first time in this lopsided season.”

Tuttosport explained why Abraham was unable to have an impact in the loss to Sassuolo, noting how Abraham “always played with his back to goal and never made himself dangerous.”

Abraham’s ratings in the Italian newspapers

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 5.5

Corriere dello Sport: 5

Tuttosport: 5
