Gioavnni Galeone has recommended that former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri should replace Paulo Fonseca in the Milan hotseat, as the former Bianconeri tactician ‘would bring solidity to the defence’.

The 83-year-old was a guest on Radio Kiss Kiss on Tuesday afternoon.

Galeone recommends Allegri for Milan

There are several other reasons why Galeone believes that Allegri would be a great fit for Milan. He pointed to his winning start when the Rossoneri won the Scudetto when he took charge in 2010-11, and also feels that Allegri brings good attacking principles as well as his defensive prowess.

“Max won straight away in Milan as soon as he became Rossoneri coach,” Galeone said

“His return to the current Milan side would be perfect for the strong technical qualities that they have. They have strong individuals in attack and Max would bring solidity to the defence.

“If he were to receive an offer from Ibrahimovic, I think he would accept it, without a doubt.”

Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juventus for the second time just before the end of the 2023-24 season.

He has been linked with several moves since then, including in the Saudi Pro League, as well as to Manchester United, which also earned the approval of legendary Premier League manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Milan, meanwhile, appointed Fonseca on a deal until the summer of 2027 a few months ago, but the Rossoneri have endured a topsy-turvy start to the 2024-25 campaign,

Milan have recently slipped to sixth in the Serie A table and have also lost two Champions League matches on the bounce.
