Milan centre-back Malick Thiaw is a doubt ahead of his side’s upcoming away trip to Lazio at the weekend after injuring his ankle in training on Tuesday afternoon, according to recent updates.
Thiaw doubtful aead of Milan’s trip to Lazio
The 23-year-old has suffered a slight strain to his ankle according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and could miss the trip to the capital on Saturday evening.
Thiaw’s spot in the starting line-up was already cast under doubt after Milan’s first two matches of the opening season.
The German started in the season opener against Torino, and scored an unfortunate goal to hand the visitors the lead. He was then dropped for the 2-1 loss away to Parma during the weekend just gone, replaced by new signing Strahinja Pavlovic, who was arguably Milan’s best performer on the night.
Pavlovic is expected to maintain his place in Paulo Fonseca’s starting line-up alongside Fikayo Tomori, who was involved in all but one of the Serie A matches he was available for last season.
Thiaw being unavailable is a positive for Milan.
One draw against Torino, a defeat against Parma. And if Lazio wins against Milan, man … Milan seriously have huge problems, they can’t even win against small clubs !!! Imagine if they go against big clubs like Rubentus, Napoli & (forza) Inter.
