Just as Juventus thought they had done enough for Jean-Clair Todibo, Fabrizio Romano reports West Ham United see their €40m plus sell-on clause bid accepted by Nice, but will the player agree?

The player has long made clear he wants a move to Turin and by holding out so far, seemingly managed to get OGC Nice to lower the initial €40m asking price.

West Ham have been bidding higher than the Bianconeri consistently, but that has not done anything to change his stance.

Juventus recently improved their offer to a loan at €5m with option to buy set at €30m with some guarantees they would make it an obligation at the end of the season.

West Ham try to blow Juventus away for Todibo

However, late Thursday night transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that West Ham dived back in with a €40m bid plus a percentage of the sell-on fee.

Crucially, this would be an outright purchase, so without Juve’s loans and options to buy.

Nice accepted and Hammers director Tim Steiden is flying out to Nice and the clubs are trying to book a medical for the player as early as Friday.

It remains to be seen whether Todibo will accept, as he has been waiting for Juventus for months now and they seemed so close to a deal.
