Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz ahead of the summer, but a deal is starting to look unlikely for the Old Lady.

The Bianconeri are gearing up to rejuvenate their squad this summer as they look to kickstart a new project under Thiago Motta, desperate to close the gap to Inter and Milan. They are preparing to return to the Champions League and will also take part in the revamped Club World Cup.

In recent days, multiple media reports have detailed Juventus’ interest in Douglas Luiz, suggesting a possible swap deal is on the cards involving Weston McKennie, who has just a year left on his contract in the Piedmont capital.

Douglas Luiz to Juventus unlikely

Transfer market pundit Matteo Moretto provided an update on Juventus’ possible deal with Aston Villa for Douglas Luiz via Caught Offside.

The 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder has a hefty price tag in England and a deal isn’t considered financially viable for the Old Lady or any other Serie A sides. The Villans don’t want to lose their player and will have to fend off interest from their Premier League rivals.

In the meantime, Juventus are on the hunt for a player with similar qualities to Douglas Luiz, but for now there’s no confirmation regarding any targets.
