Leonardo Spinazzola will miss Roma’s coming matches in Serie A and the Europa League after suffering a new muscle injury.

The 30-year-old Italian left back started the season well under Jose Mourinho and featured regularly, scoring one goal and providing two assists across 637 minutes of action in nine Serie A matches.

Spinazzola missed Roma’s last two games against Slavia Prague and Inter due to muscle fatigue, and the hope was to bring him back in time for the clash with Lecce, but things have changed.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Spinazzola has suffered a new muscle injury and will miss Roma’s next two games against Lecce and Slavia Prague.

The Giallorossi medical staff are now hoping to recover the 30-year-old for the Derby della Capitale against Lazio on November 12.

Returning for the derby would also put Spinazzola in contention for a spot in Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad for the crucial Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.
