Napoli will meet with Matteo Politano’s entourage next week to start working on a new long-term contract, reports detail.

The 30-year-old Italian winger joined the Partenopei from Inter in January 2020, initially spending 18 months on loan before making a €21m in the summer of 2021.

Politano has proven himself a useful part of the Napoli squad since his arrival and has been one of the better players under Rudi Garcia this season, scoring five goals and providing four assists 10 Serie A matches.

As reported by Il Mattino via TMW, Napoli want to tie down Politano to a new long-term deal lasting until 2028 and a meeting has been scheduled with his entourage for next week.

The Italian winger currently earns around €2.2m net per season and will receive a slight raise in his new deal. Both parties are keen to reach an agreement and things are expected to move forward quickly.
