A slight change has been called for ahead of the local derby between Juventus and Torino on Saturday evening, as the referee has been declared injured a few days before kick-off.

Antonio Rapuano had originally been selected to officiate the Derby della Mole, however he has been struck down by a back injury, which means he will not be fit enough to take charge at the weekend.

Instead, Davide Massa will be the man with the whistle at the Allianz Stadium, as confirmed by the AIA in a recent press release published on Thursday afternoon.

The 42-year-old has taken charge of 190 Serie A games so far in his career, plus over 250 matches across other competitions including Serie B, the Coppa Italia, the Champions League, Europa League and a host of international fixtures.

Massa most recently refereed the Serie A clash between Milan and Lazio on September 30, as well as featuring in the 1-1 draw between Parma and Sampdoria and in Porto’s 3-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the weeks prior.
