Roma have been forced to deal with yet another muscular injury during their Europa League trip to Sheriff Tiraspol, as Renato Sanches limped off yet again.

The Giallorossi already made the journey without Lorenzo Pellegrini, Chris Smalling, Marash Kumbulla and Tammy Abraham.

Renato Sanches was in the starting XI, having scored after making his comeback from another injury in the 7-0 Serie A victory over Empoli on Sunday.

However, he lasted only 28 minutes before limping off to make way for Leandro Paredes.

It is hardly a new issue, because Roma were able to sign Renato Sanches on loan with option to buy largely because injuries had ruined his experience at Paris Saint-Germain.

More tests will now have to be performed to ascertain the extent of the damage, but it is yet further evidence that the Portugal international has not fully shaken off that weakness in the muscles.

Renato Sanches has managed two Serie A appearances and one in the Europa League this season, scoring one goal, but spent only 98 minutes on the field.
