Reports in Italy claim Leonardo Bonucci is close to joining Union Berlin with his entourage in advanced talks with the Bundesliga side.

Bonucci has been frozen out of the Bianconeri squad for 2023-24 and is not expected to play for the Old Lady during the last year of his contract with the Serie A giants.

Therefore, he’s been looking for a new club, and Union Berlin are now on the verge of securing his signature.

Calciomercato.com and La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the veteran defender is ‘close’ to joining the Bundesliga side that will be playing in the Champions League in 2023-24.

According to Calciomercato, Bonucci’s entourage is working to terminate his contract with the Old Lady and will agree to a €1.5m-a-year deal with the Berlin-based club.

Sky Sport Italia adds that Juventus are also in talks with Union Berlin for Samuel Iling-Junior, although Atalanta and Bologna are also interested in the English winger.
