La Gazzetta dello Sport claims West Ham coach David Moyes is pushing to sign Divock Origi from Milan, whose signing would unlock Gianluca Scamacca for Roma.

Scamacca has made no secret that he wants to play under José Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi have been in talks with West Ham for several weeks and hope to get the ex-Sassuolo striker on loan with an option or obligation to buy tied to their qualification for the Champions League in 2023-24.

West Ham have identified Milan flop Origi as Scamacca’s possible replacement for next season.

According to Gazzetta, the Hammers are in advanced talks with the ex-Liverpool striker, but the deal is not yet closed. West Ham boss Moyes is an admirer of the Belgium international and it would be easier for him to offload Scamacca once Origi moves to East London.

Origi is not part of Stefano Pioli’s plans at Milan and hasn’t been included in their squad for the pre-season tour in the USA.

According to Gazzetta, Scamacca was in Rome on Saturday for personal reasons, so he was dropped for West Ham’s friendly against Dag & Red.
