Milan are planning to send out Matteo Gabbia on loan and Genoa have reportedly emerged to sound out a move.

The 23-year-old defender, who is a product of the Rossoneri’s youth system, struggled for consistent playing time under Stefano Pioli last season, seeing just 895 minutes of action across 17 total appearances.

Milan still believe in Gabbia’s potential and think he could grow into a first team regular, but are keen for him to continue his development and gain more first team experience.

As reported by TMW, a number of Serie A clubs have emerged to register their interest in Gabbia, with the latest being the newly promoted Genoa. Milan will not include a permanence clause in the deal.

The 23-year-old is now considering his options and is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks. Gabbia is contracted to Milan until June 2026 and has made 51 total appearances for the first team.
