Inter are set to sign Aarhus defender Yann Aurel Bisseck for €7m: here’s a profile of the 22-year-old and what the Nerazzurri can expect from the German.

Beppe Marotta met with the player’s agents on Friday and the Nerazzurri are expected to complete his signature next week. They will pay his €7m clause replacing Milan Skriniar who is set to join PSG on a free transfer.

All Italian media say Bisseck’s Inter move is a done deal.

A U21 Germany international, Bisseck will play at the U21 European Championship next week. He hasn’t yet made his debut with Germany’s senior team.

Bisseck is 1.96 tall. As highlighted by Gazzetta, ‘The first impact is that it will be impossible to beat him in aerial duels.’ The German centre-back has a ‘great sense of position’ and is strong in man-marking, but must improve on the ball, especially when starting the build-up from the back.

Bisseck joined Koln’s Academy when he was only seven years old and made his senior debut with the Bundesliga side before turning 18, becoming the youngest debutant in the club’s history. He also played for Germany’s U17, 18 and 19 squads.

In 2018-19 he joined Holstein Kiel in the 2 Bundesliga and suffered a severe knee injury, remaining out of action until October 2019. It was followed by another loan deal in 2019-20, this time at Roda JC in the Netherlands’ second division, but it was unsuccessful for him as he only made 10 appearances at a senior level.

He suffered a new knee injury in September 2020, which forced him to the sidelines until the end of the year and things didn’t improve in 2020-21 when he joined Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes on loan in the second part of the campaign.

Danish side Aarhus signed him on an initial loan deal in 2021 and made his move permanent for just €670,000 last summer.

Bisseck has scored six goals in 68 appearances with his club, which he helped finish third in the Superligaen in 2022-23.
