The injury crisis at Roma is only getting worse after Marash Kumbulla and Andrea Belotti limped off against Milan, while Nemanja Matic will be suspended.

The Giallorossi already had serious problems picking a starting XI in Serie A this evening, as Chris Smalling, Diego Llorente, Rick Karsdorp and Gini Wijnaldum are all out of action.

Kumbulla lasted only 15 minutes before being forced off with a bruise just above his knee, following the accidental collision with Olivier Giroud.

This prompted Jose Mourinho to drop Bryan Cristante into the back three as an emergency solution.

Belotti then sustained a knock to the ribs when defending from Fikayo Tomori on the stroke of half-time.

Il Gallo had seemed ready to resume, but DAZN pitchside reporters confirm that as he got to the top of the steps, the striker was still visibly in pain and asked to be substituted.

Rushing to get the change done during the half-time break and therefore not taking up a precious slot, Mourinho got Stephan El Shaarawy onto the pitch.

There are more problems for the upcoming midweek round against Monza, as Matia was booked and will be suspended.
