A battle in the lower echelons of the Serie A table sees a resurgent Sassuolo take on a struggling Spezia in the first match of the weekend.
The game between the Neroverdi and the Aquilotti kicks off at 17.30 UK time at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia.
At one point this season, Sassuolo found themselves languishing in 17th in the Serie A table, looking at serious risk of relegation. Since late January, Alessio Dionisi’s side have rediscovered their footing and picked up wins over teams like Milan, Atalanta and Roma, putting them far clear of the drop zone.
The Neroverdi have a fully fit squad heading into this evening’s clash, giving Dionisi options across the pitch.
Spezia are circling dangerously close to the relegation zone and sit just five points clear of 18th place Hellas Verona. The Ligurian outfit need to start picking up points fast if they want to secure their future in the Italian topflight.
The Aquilotti cannot count on Emil Holm, Arkadiusz Reca and Simone Bastoni, all of whom are out injured.
