Inter have announced that striker Joaquin Correa has suffered a tendon injury, keeping him out of action for an unknown period.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward started in last night’s Champions League clash against Barcelona but came off in the 56th minute in place of Edin Dzeko. Correa has had a slow start to the season with Inter and only made two Serie A starts as he struggles to display the Bosnian veteran in the starting line-up.

As announced by Inter, tests have revealed that Correa has suffered a tendon injury to his left knee, forcing him to the sidelines. No clear indications have been given yet regarding his recovery time but he’ll certainly miss the upcoming match against Sassuolo on the weekend.

Inter will monitor Correa’s health on a day by day basis but there are some fears that he could be out of action for a number of weeks.
