According to Le Parisien in France, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is under police protection following threats and blackmail attempts from an ‘organised gang.’

The French paper reports Pogba is under police protection in Turin, where he lives following his return to Juventus from Manchester United over the summer. A member of his entourage has confirmed the news, the report claims.

The France international was a victim of violent extortion attempts and has taken action against an organised gang, including his brother Mathias who is now under custody in France.

Mathias, one of the three Pogba brothers, released an Instagram video at the beginning of September, where he said he would make ‘explosive revelations’ about the Juventus star.

Pogba allegedly told France officers that he had received threats from an organised gang that, back in March, stole him a credit card and circa €300,00,0 demanding €13m from the 2018 France World Cup winner.

Pogba said he was dragged into an apartment where he was accused of not having helped his friends financially since he became a football star.

He was reportedly threatened with rifles and followed by gang members at Juventus’ training ground once he completed his return to Turin.
