Sources at the Inter headquarters in Italy have denied reports in France that Beppe Marotta is currently in a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain representatives for Milan Skriniar.

The Ligue 1 giants have been chasing Skriniar all summer, but would not meet the €70m asking price.

They are now determined to keep pushing up to the transfer deadline tomorrow evening, but the Nerazzurri have raised the price-tag even more to €90m because it is so late in the summer.

According to Footmercato, Inter chief Beppe Marotta was in a meeting this afternoon at the club headquarters in Milan with Parisian representative Ludovic Fattizo.

However, Italian reports who have spent all day outside the Inter headquarters point out Marotta was seen arriving after this meeting was supposed to have already been in progress.

So either the meeting was held somewhere else and was interrupted or there was no encounter at all.

L’Equipe also claim negotiations have resumed between the clubs, but this time via the owners rather than the directors.

Inter have made it clear they do not wish to sell Skriniar and the defender is ready to sign a new contract past the current expiry of June 2023.
