Inter announced the signing of André Onana last week and according to Gazzetta, Simone Inzaghi will rotate him and Samir Handanovic in goal next season.

The Nerazzurri captain has extended his contract until June 2023 but doesn’t have a guaranteed starting spot at the Stadio Meazza for 2022-23.

According to Gazzetta, Inzaghi will rotate the former Udinese man and his new teammate Onana starting from next season.

Both goalkeepers will have equal chances of starting every game and Inzaghi will be tasked with finding the right balance and managing the two goalkeepers without issues.

It’s the same situation faced by Maurizio Pochettino at PSG last season when neither Keylor Navas nor Gigio Donnarumma were regular starters.

Inzaghi and Inter fans will hope that the alternation of goalkeepers will work out better for the Nerazzurri, given that Donnarumma and Navas both complained about rotations last season despite insisting they had no problems between each other.

  1. Hopefully the aim is making Onana the No.1 for years to come. Maybe start Handa for the opening few games, and introduce Onana there in with Handa getting one game every 4… Handa will still be useful but we need the new kind of goalkeeper than Onana is, hopefully it works out for us as it did for Milan going from Donnarumma to Magic Mike…

  2. My humble advice, don’t ditch handa suddenly because of onana whom I know perfectly well can’t feel the gap yet. He can be very error prone.
