Roma are considering bringing in free agent Isco should Henrikh Mkhitaryan make the move to Inter this summer.

The Giallorossi are trying to convince the Armenian forward to sign a contract renewal and they’ve currently offered a one-year deal with an option for a second worth €3.5m net per season plus add-ons. Hopes are not high, however, as the Nerazzurri have offered a two-year deal, something that the former Manchester United man prefers.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Roma are now considering the idea of bringing in Isco to replace Mkhitaryan should he leave. The experienced Spaniard would be a good addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad and he could certainly fill the void left behind following a possible Mkhitaryan departure. Talks between the two parties are now ongoing.

Roma are not the only club interested, with Milan also reportedly keen, but in Spain the Giallorossi are considered the favourites. One of the reasons for this is that they’re the only club offering a three-year deal to the 29-year-old.

Whilst Isco does have a high salary of around €6.5m net per season, the Growth Decree would allow Roma to spend the same amount as they would have done with Mkhitaryan.

  1. Isco is more creative than miki.. He scores more that miki too and he would be an upgrade to miki considering the age and creativity.. Isco, sensi, dybala, Florenzi, jorginho/Xhaka and Guedess enough for Roma too compete for SerieA and win the Europa conference

  2. Milan won’t offer Isco a 6.5m deal a year to Isco. If something, 4m and that’s is a stretch. Otherwise, they will look elsewhere

  3. Great player, but yet another who A. generally misses around 10 games a season thru injuries and B. Has probably been past his best for minimum 3-4 seasons. If you’re going to pay that sort of salary in Serie A, you need a little more guarantee that the player will deliver.

Fit and if gets regular games, Isco is/was one hell of a player. I still look back to his malaga days when he was probably less tactically restricted and feel we saw the best Isco there.
