According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Francesco Totti would consider a return to Roma given that his rapport with the Friedkin family and José Mourinho is excellent.

The former Giallorossi captain has attended many games and events at the Stadio Olimpico over the last few months, once again showing his close bond with the only club he played for in his career. Totti was appointed as one of the club chiefs during the James Pallotta era but handed his resignation in 2019.

He didn’t attend Roma games for a long time before returning to the Stadio Olimpico this season. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his return to the club is also on the cards. Contacts between him and club directors are frequent, and Totti is on good terms with the Friedkins, Tiago Pinto and José Mourinho and would consider an offer from the Giallorossi.

The rapport with Mourinho is excellent and ‘there is strong mutual esteem’ between the coach and the former striker. Roma owners have not yet discussed Totti’s possible return to the club, but the 2006 Italy World Cup winner would be happy to begin a new chapter of his life at the club.

  1. time to bring Rudi Garcia and Totti back. Jose needs to go. Roma are not a luxury where they can buy everyone Jose wants. Nevermind these premiership players who come for weather and better food. We need players that fight for this shirt and know the true meaning of Roma. No Totti, No Party. Bring in some midfielders who can move the ball up for goodness sake.

  2. what are you talking about? roma is a staple in italy, no? maybe a big coach can bring bigger, richer investors which you NEED. have fun staying middle of the table for years to come if thats your outlook… you have no idea what you have.

  3. Absolute right Totti78. Most Italian clubs actually do need to have within their squads players that have been taken within their youth system just like Totti was and also the current footballer Edoardo Bove. They will do well as they know what it means to play for their club that they probably support et cetera.

  4. Mourinho has to go, there is no light at the end of the Roma tunnel in terms of how they play (not to mention our good players of previous seasons underperforming with Mourinho) and ANY other coach would have been given his marching orders by now.
If Roma don’t have the financial power of the big hitters, we’ll need to be smart and bring in a coach whose style of play will cater to the players available (look at Bodo Glimt, Ajax etc). Mourinho ball is done and dusted, but unfortunately some fans get caught up with the celebrity hype… True, he can attract big players, but if his managed to weaken a side after spending $100m, what’s the point?
    Wake up Roma!

  5. Mourinho as to go and I wonder if cheap dr*gs is on sale here! in less than a season you’re asking him to go? Is that how we think nowadays? Who says next season won’t be great? What is the caliber of players Roma has? All are average except a few and you think you can beat clubs like Napoli and Inter?
You had better learn to build and stop hoping for miracles, he has to be given time! Check all the clubs he left, it’s obvious he wasn’t their problem! Why would Roma fall prey to bad press? Why? He has his flaws but you won’t get a better coach who would agree to work with the bunch of players and accept to be in the top 4 contentions.
Football has evolved! Deal with it……

  6. MOURINHO IS GREAT MANAGER AND WE NEED TO GIVE HIM SOME TIME TO PUT A GREAT SQUAD. WE NEED CB’S CUZ THEY CAN ‘T DEFEND WE ALSO NEED CDM AND CM IN THE SUMMER. LETS GO ROMA
