Giorgio Chiellini tried to ‘think positive and see the glass half-full’ after a 0-0 draw with Milan, as the Juventus captain reiterated he has ‘the enthusiasm of a kid.’

It was a goalless stalemate at San Siro that does little for either side, as Milan drop four points adrift of leaders Inter and are caught in second place by Napoli.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeri remain one point behind fourth-placed Atalanta, who have a game in hand.

“I always think positive and see the glass half-full. Obviously, I’d have preferred to win, but it was a balanced game, we both tried, we have improved since the start of the season and are more solid now,” Chiellini told DAZN.

“It’s a pity, as a win would’ve given us a boost, but we are on the right path and there are four important months coming up. We’re up there and have to keep going.

“I think we’ve improved in our reading of the game, as we are a team for 95 minutes, but we lacked that final moment in front of goal. It was a good Juve, we have done very well over the last month and a half.”

Chiellini was wearing the captain’s armband and before kick-off had a big grin on his face as he shook hands with Alessio Romagnoli.

“I have the enthusiasm of a kid and need to enjoy it. This might be my last game at San Siro, or my last game in general, I have to enjoy every day like that at my age. I enjoy myself, training with young lads gives me energy and I feed off that.”

The state of the turf did not help either Juventus or Milan to play better football, especially as Inter only played here yesterday against Venezia.

“The pitch is what it is, both teams had to deal with it, Simone Inzaghi said so yesterday as well with Inter. I have a few doubts over the idea of playing two games on the same pitch in two days in Winter.

“San Siro remains one of the most beautiful stadiums in Italy and it’s only right that it has a pitch to match.”
