Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to start over Olivier Giroud in the Milan attack against Venezia, but Stefano Pioli has to cope without several regular starters in defence and midfield.

It kicks off at 11.30 UK time.

Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli are believed to be positive for COVID, while Simon Kjaer has been ruled out of action until the end of the season with a knee injury. Therefore, Pierre Kalulu and Matteo Gabbia will once again start at centre-back.

Milan also have Franck Kessié, Ismael Bennacer and Fode Ballo-Touré on Africa Cup of Nations duty, so Sandro Tonali and Tiemoue Bakayoko will start in the middle of the park.

The Chelsea loanee started three Serie A games so far this season and was always subbed off during the break.

Venezia have Mattia Caldara and Tanner Tessmann serving a one-match ban, while Tyronne  Ebuehi is on international duty with Nigeria. New signing Michaël Cuisance, who was signed from Bayern Munich this week, is expected to start.

Venezia didn’t play on Thursday as their away game against Salernitana was declared abandoned after the Granata had been ordered into quarantine by the local health authority.
