Ciro Immobile hopes to return to action as soon as possible but admits he fears an injury relapse.
The Italian striker missed Saturday’s game against Juventus due to a calf injury but hopes to return to the pitch soon.
“It’s going better, I make some improvements every day,” the 31-year-old told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“I would have played against Juventus had I had problems with another muscle and not the calf,” he continued.
“It’s a delicate muscle and it’s better not to take any risk. I need to undergo further medical examinations. I no longer feel pain, but I don’t want to get injured again, so I need to be patient. I hope to return as soon as possible.”
Immobile is Serie A’s top scorer, along with Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic. They have scored ten goals each so far this season.
