Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso wants one final meeting with Dusan Vlahovic, his family and agents before abandoning the contract talks, claim reports, hoping to pit the striker against his representatives.

The Sports Office agency rejected the latest renewal offer, meaning with a deal that expires in June 2023, a sale has to be made in January or next summer.

According to TGR RAI Toscana, who are very close to the Viola hierarchy, President Commisso has a plan for one last attempt at reconciliation.

He hopes that a face-to-face meeting in December with Vlahovic, the player’s family and his agents will help to create some tension between the striker and his representatives.

It is widely reported the reason for failed contract extension talks are because the agents want the exclusive rights to negotiate a future sale, plus a 10 per cent commission and a €5m one-off fee as well.

If Vlahovic is sold for the €75m asking price, that would bring them €12.5m from the transfer, getting money both from Fiorentina and whoever purchases the player.

Effectively, the agent would earn a lot more than Vlahovic, so Commisso hopes that laying all that out to the player will make him reconsider his approach to Fiorentina.

  1. As a neutral I was hoping Rocco would be a breath of fresh air as an owner, but he continues to show his is in over his head with Italian politics, negotiating in the media is not a good sign. He is basically pushing the player and the fans against each other.

  2. The sad truth is that not many of the best young players want to stay in Italy. They (and even more so their agents) are using it as a stepping stone for a move to the epl.
And with more and more oil clubs in England, expect the exodus to continue.

  3. Commisso will have more luck convincing the city to build a new stadium rather than getting Vlahovic to resign. It’s just grandstanding now, give it a rest and go after talent you have a shot of singing (like Belotti).

  4. Vlahovic reminds of Christian Vieri , He is very powerful in the Air and has an eye for Goal, the only thing he needs is to have support with right players who can assist him , A move to Juve is on cards, though it remains to be seen Premier League interests as that will be his preferred choice

  5. @jones: wanna bet Vlahovic will not end up like Piatek? He is the real deal.

It`s widely known that Commisso is a JuBentus fan.

Rocco can`t wait to bend over once again for Piemonte Calcio, to hand over the player on a silver platter just like he did with Chiesa. Loan with payment in several years? No problem!

I don`t know how the fans are not revolting, it seems that the rivalry between the clubs has been erased.

  6. @ Juve.

Sure thing. Guy is slow and not mobile at all. Sure he’s strong but he’s a traditional striker and not useful in the modern game – too easy to shut down. If Juve want a slow, bumbling cement footed striker, should have got Dzeko. Last of the mohicans when it comes to that style. Watch, Vlahovic will be in some unknown german team this time next year.

  7. I MISS juve@

Not exactly true. Fio didn’t have any choice than accept the bad terms of the chiesa deal when juve convinced the player to refuse every other destination so fio only could choose between losing chiesa for free a year later or go a long with the bad terms offered.
Just like they did with locatelli whom left in a euqvally bad deal for his old club.
Wich comisso condemned in the media , a year too late, yes. But still
