Atalanta have officially announced the signing of Teun Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar.
The left-footed midfielder, capped once by the Netherlands, was linked with the Orobici all summer and has finally arrived at the Gewiss Stadium.
The defensive midfielder joins on a permanent deal and Atalanta reportedly paid €12m for the 23-year-old’s services.
He has spent his whole career at AZ so far and is ready to embark on a new chapter with La Dea in Serie A.
Koopmeiners has already gained some experience in Europe with the Dutch side, as he has appeared 14 times in the Europa League, scoring four times and contributing three assists in the competition.
“Teun Koopmeiners is a new Atalanta player,” the club wrote on Twitter. “Welcome, Teun!”

Atalanta making the wisest moves in Serie A as usual. Pity they have to sell (Romero could be a huge loss) to fund them.
