Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has revealed Eintracht Frankfurt are not willing to sell Filip Kostic after all. ‘I was surprised’.

Reports emerged regarding a possible move for the Serbian winger, who seemed to be on the verge of joining Maurizio Sarri’s side.

But sporting director Tare has revealed the negotiations with the Bundesliga side fell through in an interview with Bild.

“I was surprised that Frankfurt is now saying that Kostic is not on the market and that it’s not a question of price,” Tare told the German newspaper.

“I didn’t have an impression from our talks that Kostic was not allowed to leave the club. We would have been willing to negotiate the price again.

“But it didn’t come to that. Six or seven days ago, I already informed Markus Krösche that we wanted Kostic.

“We confirmed this by email, as requested. Then it was publicly stated that there was no offer.”
