Milan continue talks with free agent Olivier Giroud, but have also reportedly agreed a payment schedule with Chelsea for Fikayo Tomori.
The centre-back arrived in January on loan with option to buy for €28m and made a huge impression, pushing Alessio Romagnoli onto the bench.
Attempts to negotiate a discount on the clause failed, so Tuttosport claim Milan have instead managed to convince Chelsea to accept payment of the full €28m in various instalments.
This will allow the Rossoneri to spread the cost out over several seasons.
Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Giroud is a free agent from June 30 and seems increasingly close to joining Milan.
It’s reported he will have to take a pay cut from the €6m per season at Stamford Bridge to €4m plus performance-related bonuses.
Milan are back in the Champions League after seven seasons and see Giroud as an alternative to fellow veteran hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
