After Gianluigi Donnarumma, Milan are also taking a stand on Hakan Calhanoglu, prepared to lose him as a free agent rather than raise their proposal.

The Rossoneri under director Paolo Maldini have decided to stick to their guns in the battle with agents, refusing to be drawn into bidding wars.

Donnarumma was allowed to walk away rather than increase the €8m per season wage package and it looks as if Calhanoglu will follow the same fate.

According to Sport Mediaset, Gazzetta dello Sport and more, the Turkey international will not get more than €4m per season at San Siro.

His contract expires on June 30, so he can leave as a free agent.

It’s reported Calhanoglu has been offered over €10m per year to play in Qatar for Al-Duhail and is seriously considering that option.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with Juventus, Chelsea and Liverpool, but not at anywhere near that salary.
