Chelsea have reportedly rejected an initial Juventus offer for Emerson Palmieri, as they would be unable to find a replacement.

Maurizio Sarri is expected to sign for Juve over the next 48 hours, with a termination of his Chelsea contract by mutual consent set for Monday.

He would like to be reunited with Emerson, who impressed in recent months at Stamford Bridge after recovering from injury.

According to Calciomercato.com, Juve made an initial offer for the Italo-Brazilian left-back, but it was turned down.

This is largely because the transfer embargo on Chelsea means they couldn’t bring in a suitable replacement.

If their appeal against the ban is successful, then the Premier League side could be open to a sale.

He cost €20m to purchase from Roma in January 2018, a decision made when Antonio Conte was still the Coach.
