After Coach Paulo Sousa has experimented with a new 4-2-3-1 formation this season, Calciomercato.it reports that Giaccherini of Napoli and Iturbe of Roma are being eyed by the Viola as options to bolster the squad in January.

The pair are both struggling for playing time at their respective clubs, the former only having made three substitute appearances for the Partenopei since a summer move from Bologna, whilst the latter is also yet to start for Roma after returning from a loan spell with Bournemouth last season.

Such moves will become more likely should Milan Badelj leave the club, after heavy interest in the Croatian from Chelsea and Milan.
