Udinese Coach Luigi Del Neri admits “Juventus are favourites” for Saturday’s game but “there are three points up for grabs”.

The former Juve boss will take charge of his first game since being appointed as Beppe Iachini’s successor, and isn’t willing to write this one off.

“They’re favourites for this game,” Del Neri told SportItalia.

“It’s definitely a very complicated debut, a difficult match, but football has taught me that you play a game to play it, being attentive to their great quality, being careful about what you give up and taking advantage of the opportunities which will inevitably come.

“Nothing to lose? That’s not the case, all games are important and we have to put our dignity out there on the pitch.

“We’re aware that the team we’re facing are favourites for the competition, but they’re also favourites in bigger areas, like Europe.

“We’re aware though that this is a game to be played with quality and desire. There are three points up for grabs and we’re aiming to put in a good performance and do our best.

“We know they’ll control the game, but we can’t be neglectful of the attacking phase, we have a young team with a desire to prove themselves and show that we can get past this early impasse.”
